Teacher faces sex charges

A former Rocky Mount High School teacher was arrested Tuesday in connection with having sex with a student.

Kelly Bartz, 39, of the 1400 block of Lafayette Avenue was indicted by a Nash County grand jury on charges of sexual activity with a student by a teacher. Bartz was arrested and brought to the jail at 8:54 a.m. and posted her $2,000 bond by 9:06 a.m., according to the Nash County Jail.

The offense was filed as taking place on June 20, and a warrant for her arrest was issued Monday, according to the Nash County Clerk of Courts Office.

I can’t believe it. I’ve been looking at Attuworld for the longest time, and my home town makes it on. I’m so proud if Rocky Mount, NC. Also, my kid will be attending that high school next year. Woo Hoo!!!!

i begin to think that teaching, as a profession, is being sought more for it’s access to young bodies than for it’s usefulness as a tool to perpetuate responsible citizenry.
