Yeah, the LAST one. Really.  Simon Iddol is here to announce you the end of the Mashup of the Week series. We started the MOTW 111 weeks ago and hopefully it caused many many happy moments for you. Now it’s time to retire the old concept and bring in a new and fancy one instead. From next week we will start a brand new music series here on Attuworld, which will bring you even more free music! Stay tuned for more news and updates and meanwhile enjoy the last winner of the Mashup of the Week title. It was made in France by ElectroSound. He mashed two of the biggest rock giants and the result seems to be the perfect farewell song.

He released the first original team9 album since 2003, it’s called We don’t disco and its a free download! God Bless Creative Commons!!! He  and Stereogum released the MySplice III compilation, the mashed year review of the indie music scene and he still has gems and leftovers. Few days ago 6(!!) new team9 tracks showed up in his website. Wooow, massive. Any of them can be MOTW easily so I just picked up the one which fits my mood most, but you go and grab the rest right?

Simon Iddol has something very very special for you this week. DJ Prince is one of the most known ambassadors of  harmonic mixing.  Harmonic mixing is the art of mixing recorded music together in perfect harmony using the basic rules of key and chord compatibility in modern music. Dj Prince has many tools in his site for DJ’s who want to learn this technique, and sometimes he does funky tricks like this mashup. He  re-created a Groove is in the heart instrumental with the original sample sources and mashed it with M.I.A.’s Olalalalala. Pure genius.

Simon Iddol is here again, with the first MOTW episode of the 2009 season. THX for your overwhelming response about the Mashups of the Year 2008 album, it was a real blast. This week I give you the perfect track to kick out the year. The ultra-talented Polish DJ/producer duo El Barto & Liam B mashed the legendary electro pioneers Kraftwerk with the for ever gangsta Mavado. The result is stunning, I’m sure this track will feature in the best of 2009 compilation. 2009 will be hottttt!

Simon Iddol was very very excited this week, because of this episode of the MOTW. I was really looking forward this moment, cos finally I’m allowed to share this album with you. This is the best thing in designing coverarts for musicias, I can listen the latest stuff before everybody else, hehehe. So after +2 weeks of continous plays I really really think that new Flying White Dots album is one of the best mashup projects this year. Go and get it right now! In one hand its the usual mashed trippy ambient chill out feeling, what we would expect after the first two FWD albums, but in the other hand its deeper, more textured than anything before.
This will be one of your fave listenings in this winter!
