Splashed with gratuitous images and boasting cheap thrills, Grindhouse film posters lured audiences into theatres by playing up the most shocking aspects of the films they were pushing.

Over the past few weeks, MGM and The Groove Guide asked designers and artists from around the country to send in their interpretations of a Hollywood film-cum-Grindhouse fare.

In the past it used to be what you did for a living often determined your name. For instance, if you were a cobbler then your last name might become Shoemaker, or an ironworker might become Smith. Nowadays things have turned around and there are loads of real cases where people end up doing jobs that are similar to their surname. For example, and ornithologist named Bird, or a doctor named Ward. These names are known as "aptronyms."

What would happen if we applied this effect to celebrities? Think of Oliver Stone making statues, Tom Cruise working on an ocean liner, or Margaret Thatcher fixing someone's straw roof.

Every notable landmark seems to have one thing in common: visitors, and lots of them. But if you want that postcard shot or that image that shows how the location may have once appeared, you have a challenge ahead of you. This digital photography and PhotoShop tutorial will provide a means to remove the tourist throngs from your vacation images.

Manipulation is a way to alter or adjust the subject to suit one’s desires. An artist tries to manipulate the graphics to enhance his/her vision.

Gradients are one of the most important aspects to be considered while designing a Web 2.0 Site. Even a simple button is of a gradient. So I decided to make some cool set of Gradients and put them together in an Adobe Photoshop Gradient file (.grd). These gradients are fully scalable, what i mean here is its not an image or so.. just create a shape and apply the gradient - As simple as that. You could create Logos, Backgrounds, Tabs, Buttons, Wallpapers, Toolbars and all sorts of stuff… Coming to the Layer Styles, I found a lot of styles on the Web to download but none of them were of the today’s trend of Web 2.0. So here is a set of 131 Photoshop Layer Styles I created in .ASL ( Photoshop Layer Style ) format.

As explained in the below image, I feel this set of Layer Styles could be the fastest way to create Web Elements like Buttons, headers, Content Backgrounds and a lot other stuff…
